About the position

The Service Response Systems Administrator - Linux role at ASRC Federal Holding Company involves supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency's Unified Cyber Situational Awareness program. This position is critical for maintaining 24x7x365 operations of classified systems, focusing on the design, installation, configuration, security, troubleshooting, and maintenance of operating systems for mission-critical servers.

Responsibilities

• Manage Enterprise Red Hat Linux computing infrastructure.
• Installation and Maintenance of Enterprise Linux Servers and network systems server/storage/network devices in accordance with DoD policies and procedures.
• Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Work with a team of Service desk and systems Administrators.
• Utilize Remedy ticketing system for trouble management documentation.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to DoD agencies and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Research and recommend/assist in improving system performance.
• Communicate effectively with remote customers.

Requirements

• Experience with Enterprise Red Hat Linux systems administration.
• Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures related to IT systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain network systems and devices.
• Experience with ticketing systems, preferably Remedy.
• Strong communication skills for user support and remote customer interaction.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with classified operations and environments.
• Familiarity with system capacity analysis and planning.
• Knowledge of security protocols for classified systems.
