We are seeking a dedicated Linux System Administrator to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for providing technical support within the team of Systems Administrators. Areas of support include but are not limited to: LINUX (RedHat) administration, shell scripting, VMware administration, LINUX backup and recovery, server network configuration, logical volume management, LINUX clustering, hardware setup and troubleshooting, system log management, LINUX and VMware patching and upgrading, LDAP, and hardening of systems. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems within established standards and guidelines. Expected to work independently within management and company guidelines. The System Administrator will have mentoring responsibility for other System Administrators, Desktop and Helpdesk Support Technical positions. The System Administrator will work with management in establishing processes, controls, security, and strategy around system support initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develops and promotes standard operating procedures
• Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions
• Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
• Facilitate knowledge transfer of system support procedures and nuances
• Incorporate Information Security Best Practices in all aspects of Systems Management
• Installs and maintains operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance
• Lead role in a wide area of technical expertise
• Mentoring of other Technical Support staff
• Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels
• Recommendations in design and new system specification
• Responsibility for high complexity enterprise systems
• Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Server Patch and security governance
• Troubleshoots networking and operating systems problems
• Works with the backup administrator to ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
• Works with and understands the roles of members of other departments
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with Ansible, Tower or comparable technologies
• Experience with LDAP
• Experience with Linux administration and scripting
• Experience with Networking setup and configuration
• Experience with shell, scripting and system-level programming
• Experience with storage (SAN) concepts or administration
• Experience with VMware administration and configuration
• Experience with VMware and LINUX (RedHat) operating environments
• Experience with VMware Horizon
• Three years of related work experience
