About the position

As part of our team, you will provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. This role requires a solid understanding of Linux server internals and Windows fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and server replication methods. You will work collaboratively in a fast-paced technological environment, utilizing troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high complexity, which may include the integration of hardware and operating systems. Your responsibilities will also include knowledge of data RAID and data backup technologies, as well as installing and configuring software applications as requested by end users. You will collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures. Additionally, you will be expected to develop solutions and documentation for a variety of technical problems. Given that our systems operate 24/7, you may occasionally be required to work beyond standard hours. Travel to other U.S. domestic locations may be required, up to 10% of the time. To be successful in this role, you must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within six months of your start date. This position is full-time and 100% onsite, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Utilize troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high complexity.
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Develop solutions and documentation for a variety of technical problems.
  • Work with hardware and operating systems integration.
  • Knowledge of data RAID and data backup technologies.

Requirements

  • Typically, Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Linux and/or Windows experience.
  • Experience in VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • VMware highly desired.
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • In-depth working experience in Windows Server.
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • Experience using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
  • Scripting experience.
