About the position

The AEGIS O&M program is currently seeking a Linux/Windows System Administrator to join our team at the Combat System Engineering Development Site (CSEDS) in Moorestown, NJ. This facility serves as a research and development hub for the AEGIS Combat System, a revolutionary naval air defense system designed to protect against missile threats from various sources including land, sea, and air. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including hardware and software installation and de-installation, fault detection and isolation, volume backups, system monitoring, and user support. You will also be expected to ensure that systems are operationally ready at all times and to address after-hours support calls as needed. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, along with a detail-oriented approach to managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and software installation and de-installation (COTS and custom software).
  • Conduct fault detection and fault isolation.
  • Manage volume backups, system monitoring, and cleanup.
  • Provide user support and maintain knowledge of internal/external network interfaces.
  • Write scripts in at least one administrative language.
  • Ensure systems are operationally ready at all times.
  • Address after-hours support calls as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years of Linux/Windows System Administration experience.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Experience working with third-party products.
  • Experience working in a lab environment.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years experience supporting UNIX based users on a LAN, including operating systems.
  • Integration and test experience.
  • Experience in the installation of COTS-based computer systems.
  • Experience solving end-user computer system problems and improving performance on Solaris, Linux RedHat & RedHawk, Concurrent PowerMax, HP-UX, and HP-RT.
  • Ability to install and evaluate COTS software products and tools.
  • Working knowledge of data communications and networking.
  • Experience working with customer/user representatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Experience working on AEGIS Computer Systems.
