About the position

Employbridge is seeking a Litigation Counsel specializing in property, casualty, and auto insurance to manage and litigate complex claims. This role involves providing expert legal representation, overseeing litigation cases, and collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with laws and effective resolution of claims.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and litigate complex property, casualty, and auto insurance claims.
  • Provide expert legal representation and guidance throughout the litigation processes.
  • Oversee and manage litigation cases from inception through litigation.
  • Provide legal advice to internal teams in various departments throughout the company.
  • Evaluate, advise on settlement opportunities and risk exposure focusing on effective resolution of claims.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel, managing performance, costs, and tracking assigned cases.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Perform legal research, prepare legal proceedings, discoveries, and motions.
  • Represent the company in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Maintain documentation of litigation files and records to ensure proper communication with key leadership.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited university.
  • Active member of the California State Bar.
  • 2 plus years of experience in property, casualty, and auto insurance litigation.
  • Experience as an in-house counsel or within a law firm.
  • Ability to manage complex cases including strong litigation and trial skills.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills both written and verbal.
