About the position

Fredrikson & Byron is seeking an experienced Litigation Docketing Administrator to join our dynamic Litigation team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our legal processes run smoothly by monitoring court dockets, calculating litigation deadlines, and managing docketing tasks across various jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in litigation docketing and exceptional attention to detail, which are essential for success in this position. The Litigation Docketing Administrator will be responsible for monitoring both federal and state court dockets, ensuring that all deadlines are met and accurately recorded in the firm's system. This position offers flexibility, allowing for fully remote work or a hybrid model from any of our U.S. offices, catering to the preferences of the candidate. In this role, you will be expected to research and calculate rules-based litigation deadlines, respond to requests regarding calendar reports and deadline calculations, and undertake special projects and additional duties as needed. Utilizing CourtAlert for effective docket management will be a key part of your responsibilities. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous work environment, collaborating with a remote team to achieve common goals. Your proactive approach and ability to work independently will be vital in managing the demands of this position while ensuring that all docketing tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor federal and state court dockets.
  • Research and calculate rules-based litigation deadlines for accurate docketing and entry into the firm's system.
  • Respond to requests regarding calendar reports and deadline calculations.
  • Undertake special projects and additional duties as needed.
  • Utilize CourtAlert for effective docket management.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous work environment with a remote team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of recent litigation experience, preferably with docketing experience using rules-based software.
  • Experience with Minnesota courts is a plus.
  • Proactive self-starter who values team collaboration.
  • Proficient in database management, data entry control, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting litigation in multiple states, including both federal and state jurisdictions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
