About the position

We are looking to hire a Legal Assistant in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to assigned attorneys and collaborating with the firm to meet overall needs. This position is situated within a highly technological and computer-savvy environment, requiring exceptional legal secretarial skills, familiarity with Oregon state, Washington state, and federal court rules/procedures, electronic court filings, and docketing/calendaring rules. The Legal Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring that the attorneys can focus on their legal work while you handle the administrative and organizational tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of the firm. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide robust support to assigned attorneys, ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared and filed in a timely manner. You will collaborate effectively with other staff members to support the overall needs of the firm, maintaining high-level organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with clients and other legal professionals. You will also need to demonstrate exceptional client service orientation and sound judgment, solving problems effectively while remaining focused amidst competing priorities. In this busy team-oriented environment, you will exhibit strong computer skills and experience in a highly technological setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word is required, and familiarity with NetDocs is a plus. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Legal Assistant
  • Proficient in civil litigation processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in civil litigation
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent preferred
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented.
