About the position

The Litigation Paralegal at Fisher Phillips will provide essential legal support in a fast-paced environment, focusing on labor and employment law. This role involves managing client documents, drafting legal documents, conducting research, and assisting attorneys in trial preparation. The position requires a high level of expertise and the ability to handle multiple assignments while maintaining professionalism and accuracy in billing.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and manage client documents, including electronic data, and determine potential existence of relevant documents.
  • Conduct litigation, criminal, and civil background checks and obtain properly authenticated records as needed.
  • Draft documents for attorney review, including removal documents, certificates of interested parties, answers, initial disclosures, various motions and orders, scheduling orders, protective orders, deposition notices, affidavits and declarations, discovery and responses to discovery, settlement agreements, and dismissal documents.
  • Assist with drafting/preparing motions for summary judgment/adjudication; assemble exhibits and create appendix.
  • Cite-check and Bluebook as required.
  • Identify and prepare documents for production, including Bates labeling and redacting privileged and confidential information.
  • Assist in trial prep, including managing exhibits and evidentiary matters, witness lists, files, and subpoenas; coordinate and attend witness prep meetings; assist at trial.
  • Conduct online research and utilize the firm's electronic resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor; timely seek assistance when needed.
  • Keep accurate time and billing records according to established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proven ability to work with a variety of state and federal jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other office tools, including document review software, eDiscovery technology, and document management system.
  • Experience with Relativity strongly preferred.
