About the position

Burg Simpson is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their Medical Malpractice team. This full-time position is crucial in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, from initial client intake to trial attendance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload effectively.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of the litigation process from initial intake to trial attendance.
• Maintain extensive contact with clients and medical providers.
• Review, analyze, and summarize medical, financial, and other case-related documents and records.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
• Communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Work with limited supervision and anticipate attorney needs.
• Identify problems and find solutions in a timely manner.
• Manage electronic and paper filing systems.
• Prepare for and attend arbitration, mediation, and trial.

Requirements

• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or a combination of both.
• Proficiency in applying court rules and procedures in state and federal courts.
• Well-developed writing and research skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize a high-volume workload.
• Experience managing electronic and paper filing systems.
