About the position

Wilshire Law Firm, an award-winning legal practice established in 2007, specializes in Personal Injury, Employee Rights, and Consumer Class Action cases. As a Litigation Paralegal in our Oakland office, you will play a crucial role in advocating for our clients' interests, often engaging in groundbreaking and newsworthy cases. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible representation. In this role, you will support our attorneys by propounding and responding to discovery, maintaining organized case files, and assisting in drafting, reviewing, proofreading, citation checking, and tabling documents. You will also manage and calendar court deadlines, prepare documents for filing in both state and federal courts, and communicate professionally with clients, experts, courts, and defense counsel. Your contributions will be vital in helping our team navigate the complexities of litigation and achieve favorable outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Support our attorneys in all phases of litigation
• Propound and respond to discovery
• Maintain organized case files
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, proofreading, citation checking, and tabling documents
• Manage and calendar court deadlines
• Prepare documents for filing in both state and federal courts
• Professionally communicate with clients, experts, courts, and defense counsel

Requirements

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience
• Excellent organizational skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to act independently and in a team-based environment
• Knowledge of e-Filing and California rules
• Familiarity with California discovery rules
• Type at least 40 wpm
• Confident in a paperless work environment
