About the position

We seek an early-career paralegal or legal assistant to join our dynamic team at Brown & Associates, PLLC. This position is primarily remote, with a hybrid format allowing for 90% remote work. The ideal candidate will be independent, a self-starter, patient with clients, and exceptional with people. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will assist with all phases of litigation, from inception through trial and post-trial. Your role will involve conducting legal research, gathering relevant information, and drafting and filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. You will also manage case files and maintain organized records, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. In addition to these responsibilities, you will coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings, effectively communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Your support will extend to trial preparation, where you may be required to attend trials as needed. Furthermore, you will provide assistance in corporate services, which includes preparing corporate documents. The role may also involve occasional personal assistant duties, such as booking flights and managing schedules. This position is full-time, but we are open to considering part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Paralegal certification or relevant degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Familiarity with North Carolina and/or South Carolina court procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in corporate services is a plus.
