About the position

The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in a law firm specializing in plaintiff personal injury matters. This role involves organizing case files, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and managing case calendars to ensure compliance with court rules. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of personal injury law.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing case files and gathering relevant documents.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other resources to support case strategies.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
• Manage case calendars and deadlines to ensure timely filings and compliance with court rules.
• Maintain accurate records through data entry and file management systems.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information pertinent to cases.
• Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and other evidence for attorney review.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to cases handled by the firm.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw is highly desirable.
• Experience in personal injury law is a must.
• Strong legal drafting skills with attention to detail in all written communications.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
