About the position

We are currently seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our team at a boutique law firm located in Oklahoma City. Our firm specializes in Personal Injury, Oil and Gas, and Insurance Defense law, and we are committed to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. This position is in-person and offers a rewarding opportunity for an experienced paralegal who values work-life balance and a supportive work environment. As a paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys with all aspects of case management, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service and support throughout their legal journey. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence from scratch, as well as conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy. You will maintain organized and up-to-date case files, documentation, and records, ensuring that all information is readily accessible. Effective communication is key, as you will be interacting with clients, witnesses, experts, and other parties involved in cases. You will also coordinate and schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions, and assist with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation and courtroom logistics. Your support during trial proceedings will be invaluable, as you will be responsible for note-taking and document management. Additionally, you will handle various administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the firm. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to the overall success of our legal practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of case management, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence from scratch.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis using various resources to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, documentation, and records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, experts, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and courtroom logistics.
  • Provide support during trial proceedings, including note-taking and document management.
  • Handle administrative tasks as needed to support the efficient operation of the firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on either personal injury (defense experience preferred, but plaintiff experience will be considered) or oil and gas law.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and correspondence from scratch.
  • Strong litigation experience, including familiarity with court procedures and rules.
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, CaseMap).
