About the position

Messner Reeves LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their Litigation team in California. The role involves supporting attorneys with various tasks related to litigation, including pre-trial preparation, trial assistance, and managing case documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal and state court procedures and will be responsible for coordinating schedules, client communications, and document organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with pre-trial preparation and trial assistance.
• Coordinate scheduling and calendaring for attorney meetings, court deadlines, and depositions.
• Maintain heavy client contact and communicate with witnesses and opposing counsel to gather case-related information.
• Draft pleadings, disclosures, and discovery requests under attorney supervision.
• Organize and manage records, documents, correspondence, and files.
• Ensure compliance with ethical requirements as per the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State.
• Utilize a document management system effectively.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal.
• Defense experience is preferred.
• Paralegal Certificate is required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Impeccable communication skills.
• Ability to work proactively and handle tasks for busy attorneys without oversight.
• Must be located in California and able to work in the office.
