Jackson Lewis P.C., a leading law firm focused on labor and employment law since 1958, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Los Angeles office. The Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in managing e-discovery processes, including redaction, duplicating, and indexing documents. Under the supervision of attorneys, the paralegal will prepare chronologies of facts and production charts, perform searches to cull relevant information, and organize pleadings, exhibits, and appendices for filings. Additionally, the paralegal will assist in organizing relevant documents for attorney review in preparation for witness interviews and depositions, as well as support attorneys in trial preparation. The essential functions of the position include analyzing, reviewing, and organizing documents and data produced during discovery, preparing and coordinating document production and responses to discovery requests, and preparing deposition and record subpoenas in compliance with state and federal regulations. The paralegal will also coordinate the production of third-party records, summarize findings, and prepare deposition outlines and summaries. In terms of trial preparation, the paralegal will manage trial exhibits and provide other trial-related assistance, including preparing initial drafts of pleadings and discovery documents for matters before Federal Administrative Law Judges (MSHA and OSHA). The role requires conducting legal research using tools such as Lexis and Pacer, cite-checking, and assisting with motion preparation. The Litigation Paralegal will serve as a liaison with courts and litigation vendors, prepare responses to audit requests, and maintain awareness of developments, procedures, and rules relevant to the office's practice areas. The position demands strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and exceptional analytical abilities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of legal experience, preferably in employment law, and must demonstrate reliability, teamwork, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Proficiency in a Windows environment, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, is required, along with strong organizational skills and knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively towards the common goal of providing excellent client service.
