The Litigation Paralegal at Brooks Law Group plays a vital role in the firm’s mission to advocate for the injured and exploited. The paralegal will be responsible for managing case files from intake to closing, ensuring that all necessary documentation is obtained and organized efficiently. This includes ordering medical records, negotiating settlements, and preparing comprehensive demands for submission to insurance carriers. In addition to these responsibilities, the Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys, presenting case synopses and assisting in the preparation of pleadings, discovery, and motions for trial, mediation, or arbitration. A vast understanding of personal injury law and the litigation process is crucial, as the paralegal will need to maintain client accountability and ensure that all case-related tasks are completed in a timely manner. Responsibilities

  • Daily interaction with existing and potential clients, both via telephone and in person.
  • Complete intakes on prospective cases.
  • Order medical records from providers and communicate with them during the course of treatment.
  • Obtain documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions.
  • Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances.
  • Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiate a reduction of outstanding medical balances with providers.
  • Work directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files.
  • Maintain organized case files.
  • Prepare comprehensive demands and assemble support for submission to carriers.
  • Interact with attorneys and present case synopsis when required.
  • Manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney.
  • Complete drafts, pleadings, discovery, and motions to prepare cases for trial, mediation, or arbitration.
  • Vast understanding of how to send motions, prepare for trial, and maintain client/case accountability in personal injury cases.
