About the position

We are looking for a skilled litigation paralegal to be the backbone of our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination of all the details before, during, and after trial. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process, which includes conducting interviews, performing legal research, and managing document filing. You will work closely with attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted in a timely manner. Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and file them with the court.
  • Perform administrative duties such as calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources.
  • Draft complaints and liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties.
  • Help with jury instructions and witnesses' preparation.
  • Provide assistance with case settlements and enroll clients.
  • Prepare demand letters and reports for weekly staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail.
  • Paralegal associate's degree or other relevant certification.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required (Haitian Creole and English).
  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred).
  • 1 year of paralegal experience (Required).
  • Knowledge of Haitian Creole (Preferred).
