About the position

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, is seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal to join our Litigation Department in the Atlanta office. This position is integral to supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, from the initial stages of a case through to post-trial activities. The ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is also essential for this role. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases, ensuring that all documents and case-related materials are organized and maintained efficiently. You will manage the discovery process, prepare for depositions, and handle written discovery requests. Your role will also involve conducting document reviews, preparing analytical documentation, and performing legal research using various resources, including Westlaw and Lexis. In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist with law and motion practice, draft pleadings and motions, and ensure compliance with federal and state rules of procedure. You will play a key role in trial preparations, including creating trial notebooks and coordinating witness schedules. Post-trial, you will assist in preparing filings and organizing cases for appeal if necessary. Maintaining accurate timekeeping records and supporting other departmental activities will also be part of your duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assists attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial
  • Oversees organization, maintenance and appropriate utilization of documents and other case-related materials
  • Assists and manages with the discovery process, prepares for depositions, propounds and responds to written discovery
  • Oversees and conducts document reviews and document productions; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes
  • Performs analytical tasks, prepares witness interview memoranda, reviews and summarizes documents, deposition, court transcripts
  • Assists with basic legal research, including locating cases, statutes and regulatory materials
  • Assists with law and motion practice, assembles motion papers and exhibits, coordinates filings of pleadings and briefs
  • Drafts common pleadings, motions, notices and other court filings
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state rules of procedure and evidence for document format, content, filing, etc.
  • Performs and oversees both simple and complex authority and fact cite-checking
  • Assists and manages trial preparations, creates trial notebooks, identifies and organizes exhibits
  • Assists in preparation of post-trial filings including briefing, motions for costs and sanctions
  • Maintains timely and accurate timekeeping records on a daily basis
  • Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Certificate in Paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal within a law firm
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • Bluebook and Trial skills required
  • Trial experience, including exhibit preparation, witness preparation and management
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Proficiency with E-filing and litigation support applications such as Relativity, Opus 2 and Adobe Acrobat
