About the position

The law firm is actively seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their Los Angeles office. This position is crucial for supporting attorneys in various aspects of litigation, ensuring that all elements of case management are effectively implemented. The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive litigation case management systems, which include both electronic and hard copy file management, case calendaring, and handling discovery-related tasks. The role also involves assisting attorneys with document reviews, which encompasses setting up and coordinating hot document binders, preparing privilege logs, and conducting necessary searches. Additionally, the paralegal will be tasked with state and federal e-filing, drafting and reviewing routine legal documents as requested by attorneys, and conducting legal research under the supervision of attorneys. The position may also require performing other duties as assigned, making it a dynamic role within the legal team.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements all elements of litigation case management systems, including file management (electronic and hard copy), case calendaring, discovery-related tasks and trial activities
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Assist attorneys with document reviews (setup, coordination of hot doc binders, preparation of privilege logs, conduct searches as needed, etc.)
  • State/federal e-filing
  • Draft and review routine legal documents as requested by attorneys
  • Conduct precedent and legal research under attorney supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience as a paralegal in a litigation setting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
  • Familiarity with state and federal e-filing procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
