About the position

HumanHire is partnered with a top-ranked global Law Firm to find an Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal to join the firm's growing team in Menlo Park, CA! As an Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's attorneys in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. This position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $125,000 per year, along with opportunities for bonuses and overtime. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing intellectual property files and databases, ensuring that all documents are up to date and readily accessible. You will conduct thorough research on intellectual property issues, including prior art searches, trademark availability searches, and patent and trademark prosecution research. You will also prepare and file patent and trademark applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other relevant agencies. Communication is key, as you will be expected to interact directly with clients, government agencies, and international associates regarding intellectual property matters. Furthermore, you will assist in due diligence investigations related to intellectual property in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, and support attorneys in intellectual property litigation by organizing and managing documents, preparing discovery materials, and assisting in trial preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize intellectual property files and databases, ensuring all documents are up to date and readily accessible.
  • Conduct thorough research on intellectual property issues, including prior art searches, trademark availability searches, and patent and trademark prosecution research.
  • Prepare and file patent and trademark applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and other relevant agencies.
  • Communicate directly with clients, government agencies, and international associates regarding intellectual property matters.
  • Assist in due diligence investigations related to intellectual property in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Support attorneys in intellectual property litigation by organizing and managing documents, preparing discovery materials, and assisting in trial preparation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Litigation Paralegal experience (IP experience is a plus)
  • Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate
  • Proficiency in various legal software (Lexis, NetDocs, etc.)
