About the position

The Litigation Paralegal at DiPasquale Moore will serve as the primary support for the Litigation Attorney, playing a crucial role in managing a high volume of personal injury cases throughout the litigation process. This position requires exceptional communication skills and a keen eye for detail, as the paralegal will be relied upon to assist in building each case effectively. The ideal candidate will contribute to a positive work environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to the success of the firm's clients. In this role, the paralegal will be responsible for utilizing state and federal online court systems for electronic filings, ensuring constant and consistent communication with clients through phone calls, emails, and scheduled office meetings. The paralegal will also engage with opposing counsel, court clerks, insurance companies, and lien resolution, drafting essential legal documents such as written discovery, expert designations, motions, and notices. Maintaining organized client files and summarizing all case-related documents will be a key part of the job, along with assisting in trial preparation by drafting jury instructions, deposition designations, and witness and exhibit lists. Additionally, the paralegal will update and maintain calendars for hearings, depositions, mediations, and scheduling orders/case management deadlines, and arrange for service of process with sheriffs and private process servers.

Responsibilities

  • Managing high volume personal injury caseloads through the litigation process
  • Utilization of state and federal online court systems for electronic filings
  • Constant and consistent client contact via phone calls, emails, and scheduled office meetings
  • Communicate with opposing counsel, court clerks, insurance companies and lien resolution
  • Draft legal documents including written discovery, expert designations, motions, notices, etc.
  • Maintain client files - reviewing, organization and summarizing all case related documents
  • Assist with trial preparation including drafting jury instructions, deposition designations, witness, and exhibit lists
  • Update and maintain calendars of hearings, depositions, mediations, and scheduling orders/case management deadlines
  • Arrange for service of process with sheriffs & private process servers

Requirements

  • Paralegal associate degree or other relevant certification
  • At least 2-5 years of relevant litigation experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs - Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Talented and eager to learn new programs and software
  • Well versed in data entry accuracy and highly meticulous
