About the position

The law firm is actively seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their dynamic team in the Los Angeles office. This position is crucial for supporting attorneys in various aspects of litigation, ensuring that all elements of case management are executed efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive litigation case management systems, which include both electronic and hard copy file management, case calendaring, and handling discovery-related tasks and trial activities. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain accurate pleadings and discovery indexes, ensuring that all documentation is organized and readily accessible for the legal team. In addition to case management, the Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys with document reviews, which involves setting up and coordinating hot document binders, preparing privilege logs, and conducting necessary searches. The position also entails state and federal e-filing, which is essential for submitting legal documents to the appropriate courts. Drafting and reviewing routine legal documents as requested by attorneys is another key responsibility, requiring strong writing skills and a solid understanding of legal terminology. The Litigation Paralegal will also conduct precedent and legal research under the supervision of attorneys, which is vital for building strong cases and ensuring that all legal arguments are well-supported. This role may also involve performing other duties as assigned, making it a versatile position within the firm. Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements all elements of litigation case management systems, including file management (electronic and hard copy), case calendaring, discovery-related tasks and trial activities
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Assist attorneys with document reviews (setup, coordination of hot doc binders, preparation of privilege logs, conduct searches as needed, etc.)
  • State/federal e-filing
  • Draft and review routine legal documents as requested by attorneys
  • Conduct precedent and legal research under attorney supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience as a paralegal, preferably in litigation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
  • Familiarity with state and federal e-filing procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
