About the position

Join our client's fast-paced medical malpractice defense team! LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our client's small team of attorneys in handling a high volume of cases. This is a perfect opportunity with endless growth potential for an entry-level paralegal looking to gain valuable experience in all aspects of litigation, from case inception to trial. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will manage assigned medical malpractice defense cases from start to finish, working closely with attorneys on case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation. You will be responsible for processing and organizing medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, and motions. Additionally, you will prepare trial binders and exhibits, assist with trial preparation, including witness coordination and legal research, and manage case budgets and billing. Proactively identifying and addressing potential issues will be a key part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned medical malpractice defense cases from start to finish
  • Work closely with attorneys on case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation
  • Process and organize medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and motions
  • Prepare trial binders and exhibits
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness coordination and legal research
  • Manage case budgets and billing
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues

Requirements

  • 2+ years of US law firm experience as a Litigation Paralegal, preferably in medical malpractice defense
  • Strong understanding of legal processes and procedures
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Proficient in case management software and legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
  • Familiarity with TrialPad is a plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with TrialPad is a plus
