About the position

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Litigation / Regulatory Paralegal to join our esteemed legal team, providing vital support to our attorneys across six office locations. This role is based in our Washington, DC office and offers a hybrid-telework schedule, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance. The Litigation / Regulatory Paralegal will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys with various legal tasks, ensuring that all necessary documentation and research are completed efficiently and accurately. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively with clients and team members. In this role, the paralegal will conduct in-depth research on case laws, regulations, and legal precedents to fortify attorneys in their legal proceedings. They will aid in the organization and management of legal documents, including filing, indexing, and retrieving case files. Working under attorney supervision, the paralegal will prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts. Regular communication with clients is essential, as the paralegal will provide updates on case progress and assist in gathering necessary information. Additionally, the paralegal will assist in the preparation for trials, which includes organizing exhibits, coordinating witness interviews, and managing trial logistics. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations is a key responsibility, as well as contributing to the development of strategies to address regulatory issues. The paralegal will also perform administrative tasks, including calendar management, scheduling, and other activities to streamline attorneys' workflow.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent paralegal certification.
  • Previous experience as a litigation or regulatory paralegal preferred.
  • Strong research skills and proficiency in legal databases and research tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of litigation and regulatory procedures is a plus.
