About the position

The Buckeye Law Group is seeking a dedicated Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Akron, OH. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000 per year. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of personal injury cases from inception through closure. This includes extensive client interaction, legal document preparation, and coordination of discovery processes. The Paralegal will support attorneys by organizing and managing case files, conducting legal research, preparing for depositions and hearings, and ensuring timely filing of documents. Our firm emphasizes client service, honesty, ethics, and results, and we are looking for someone who shares these values. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be responsible for handling incoming calls and communication with clients and third parties, maintaining strong, ongoing relationships. You will communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to gather necessary information and documents. Your duties will include preparing pleadings, motions, notices, orders, and other legal documents, as well as setting hearings, depositions, and mediations, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared. You will draft and send notices of deposition, subpoenas, and other discovery-related communications, and file documents to the court system promptly and accurately. In addition, you will perform data entry duties and organize electronic case files efficiently. Collecting, reviewing, and organizing documents related to discovery requests and responses will be part of your responsibilities, along with performing legal research to gather information pertinent to the case and discovery requests. You will also review and analyze documents and evidence obtained through discovery for relevance and importance to the case. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a keen attention to detail, thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing a heavy workload.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of personal injury experience as a Paralegal; or at least 5 years of prior legal experience working directly with clients.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with clients and co-workers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
