In this role, the Litigation Paralegal will be tasked with reviewing and analyzing a wide range of documents and data, performing both procedural and factual research to support the needs of clients and the firm. The candidate will provide insightful analysis and recommendations that align with case objectives, ensuring that all legal documentation is meticulously prepared and maintained. This includes drafting correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents, as well as overseeing the maintenance of case files and data. Additionally, the Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding other paralegals and temporary staff, providing training and feedback to enhance team performance. Compliance with administrative requirements is essential, including meeting billable hour expectations and managing timekeeping processes. The position also involves assisting in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial or resolution. This includes managing document collections, reviews, and productions, as well as coordinating with the firm's eDiscovery Resource Management team. The candidate will assist in preparing court filings, conducting legal research, and supporting trial preparation and logistics, ensuring that all aspects of the litigation process are handled efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Apply broad set of knowledge and skills to effectively manage complex cases.
  • Develop relationships to gather data and create networks of relevant resources and services.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize assignments appropriately.
  • Review and analyze documents and data, perform procedural and factual research.
  • Create and maintain, or oversee maintenance of, files, documents, and data.
  • Prepare and edit a range of written materials, including correspondence and legal documents.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to other paralegals and temporary staff through training and mentoring.
  • Comply with administrative requirements to meet billable expectations.
  • Assist in all phases of a matter from case inception through trial or resolution.
  • Assist with document collections, reviews, and productions.
  • Coordinate management of case documents, including organization and review.
  • Consult with eDiscovery Resource Management team to manage document databases.
  • Assist with the preparation of court filings, including cite and fact checking.
  • Assist with depositions, including preparation of witness files and deposition summaries.
  • Conduct factual or legal research; examine public records and monitor proceedings.
  • Assist with trial preparation and logistics, including management of exhibits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Seven years relevant experience in practice area or comparable work experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Commercial Litigation required.
  • 3 years of experience in a law firm required.
  • 3 years of experience as a paralegal required.
