About the position

The Litigation Paralegal position at a women-owned, mid-size California law firm involves supporting attorneys in litigation defense work, particularly in civil litigation related to employment and wage class actions. The role requires a combination of legal research, database management, and communication with various stakeholders, with a hybrid work model after the initial month in the office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research
• Update and maintain internal databases
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
• Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
• Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
• Liaise between trial team and internal/external third parties
• Communicate with retained experts and prepare relevant materials for expert review
• Assist with voir dire, jury selection, and witness preparation
• Subpoena medical, billing, and radiology records, employment records, workers compensation records, and other entities
• Prepare comprehensive medical chronologies and Howell analysis
• Summarize written discovery and document productions
• Conduct background checks, social media investigations, litigation history

Requirements

• 3+ years' recent experience in civil litigation
• Experience in employment and/or wage and hour class action/PAGA
• Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and One Drive
• Ability to handle multiple databases and organize data
