Cooley is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to work on a wide variety of complex matters alongside Cooley litigators throughout all stages of litigation, from the inception of a matter through discovery, trial, post-trial findings, and appeals. The Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting the legal team by compiling and organizing documents to assist in discovery, motions practice, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. This position requires a proactive approach to managing large-scale document collections and monitoring court dockets for assigned cases while maintaining internal case files. The paralegal will also be responsible for bluebooking, cite checking, and proofreading various court filings and legal memoranda, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards. In addition to document management, the Litigation Paralegal will perform factual research and prepare written summaries of compiled information. Coordination with vendors and litigation support regarding all aspects of eDiscovery is essential, as is the preparation of deposition notices and subpoenas. The paralegal will organize, maintain, and prepare witness interview or deposition materials, exhibits, and summaries, assisting with drafting pleadings and motions, including gathering and organizing exhibits and e-filing all court documents while coordinating service of process. The role also involves assisting in all aspects of trial preparation and attendance at trial, along with other duties as assigned by the practice group and Paralegal Management.
