About the position

Join our dedicated team at Fasig Brooks Law Offices in Tallahassee, FL, as a Litigation Paralegal. We are committed to advocating for the rights of our clients, and we are seeking a highly skilled individual to support our growing caseload. The Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys through all phases of the litigation process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in personal injury law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and readily accessible. You will draft, proofread, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence. Assisting in the management of the discovery process will also be a key responsibility, which includes the collection, review, and production of documents, as well as preparing discovery responses. You will file pleadings and other legal documents with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines. As a point of contact for clients, you will provide updates on case status, answer questions, and relay information between clients and attorneys. Additionally, you will assist attorneys in preparing for trials, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, coordinating witnesses, and ensuring all trial materials are prepared and organized. Conducting legal research and gathering relevant case law, statutes, regulations, and other legal resources to support case strategies will be part of your duties. You will also maintain the litigation calendar, scheduling court dates, depositions, and meetings, ensuring all deadlines are met. General administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence, will round out your responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal.
  • Proficient in legal research and legal document drafting.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal court procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program.
  • Experience with case management software.
