About the position

The Litigation Paralegal at Claggett and Sykes Law Firm plays a crucial role in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process. This position involves managing case files, ensuring compliance with deadlines, and facilitating communication with clients. The paralegal will work closely with the litigation team from the initial stages of a case through trial and post-trial activities, ensuring that all necessary documentation and procedures are followed efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys during all phases of the litigation process, from case transfer to trial and appeals.
• Ensure all deadlines are met and appointments are scheduled.
• Maintain organized files and documents related to cases.
• Communicate with clients and provide frequent updates on case status.
• Coordinate and schedule Early Case Conferences and other necessary meetings.
• Draft and file necessary legal documents, including discovery responses and pre-trial motions.
• Prepare exhibits and documents for trial, arbitration, and mediation.
• Organize and maintain case files chronologically and by subject matter.
• Oversee the work of discovery paralegals and medical records specialists, if required.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies.
• 5 years of personal injury litigation experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with Adobe products.
