About the position

Nelson Mullins is seeking a seasoned litigation paralegal for their new Chicago office to assist attorneys with commercial litigation and complex product liability matters. The role involves case management, document organization, and mentoring other paralegals, requiring extensive litigation experience and trial knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with commercial litigation and complex product liability matters.
• Manage cases from preparation to trial, ensuring all documentation is organized and accessible.
• Create and maintain a system for document management and file organization.
• Mentor and train other paralegals and practice assistants.
• Build relationships and manage vendors for trial preparation.
• Conduct research using various tools, including the Internet and Westlaw.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys on various litigation matters.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of litigation experience in a law firm.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Well-developed critical thinking skills.
• Working knowledge of eDiscovery and document management platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to conduct research using various research tools.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate (work experience may substitute for education).
• Experience in toxic tort disputes and complex commercial litigation.
