About the position

We are looking for a full-time in-house Paralegal to join our team of lawyers and legal experts at a law firm in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate should possess strong teamwork skills, excel at multitasking, and have a keen eye for details. A commitment to delivering top-notch work is essential. As a Paralegal, you will manage the law firm's calendar by scheduling hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, meetings, and other appointments to ensure efficient organization and timely execution. You will uphold a meticulous approach to prevent missing any crucial deadlines while maintaining accurate time records in the firm's time-keeping software. Fostering professional relationships with clients through effective verbal and written communication is vital, demonstrating a high standard of service and reliability. You will assist attorneys by preparing various legal documents and correspondence, including complaints, subpoenas, legal briefs, and affidavits, following attorney supervision. Facilitating clients' compliance with discovery requests and the compilation of necessary documents will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring all requirements are met promptly and accurately. Additionally, you will create and organize documents such as spreadsheets, inventories, financial information sheets, and other materials for attorney and court review and approval. Drafting correspondence to opposing counsel, parties involved, and coordinating the delivery of legal documents such as citations, notices, and subpoenas will also be part of your role. You will oversee the exchange of discovery materials and exhibits, ensuring all relevant information is shared effectively between parties. Managing document review, organization, and e-filing processes with court clerks in the DFW metroplex will be essential, ensuring all filings are accurate and timely. Finally, you will support attorneys in case preparation for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences, assisting in various administrative tasks to facilitate smooth proceedings.

Requirements

  • Prior legal service experience working under the supervision of an attorney or lawyer within a law firm environment.
  • Preference for candidates holding an ABA-approved paralegal certificate, an associate degree, or having completed a paralegal studies program from a proprietary school.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is essential for this role.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work setting, showcasing efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail are key requirements.
