About the position

The Litigation Paralegal at Ilarraza Law, P.C. is responsible for supporting attorneys in family law cases by managing client communications, maintaining schedules, preparing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with court requirements. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting clients/guests by phone or in person, answering e-mails and directing inquiries to appropriate staff members.
  • Maintaining attorney calendars; planning/scheduling Initial Consultations (IC), phone calls, depositions, hearings, trials and other related meetings.
  • Preparing New Client electronic and hard-copy files; creating Trial Binders with Exhibits; preparing client files for hearing/trial.
  • Reading, reviewing, verifying and routing correspondence; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications.
  • Organizing client conferences and ICs, and attorney meetings; retaining and scheduling meetings with court reporters, expert witnesses and other special functions.
  • Communicating with Process Servers to ensure successful service of an individual.
  • Reviewing and preparing documents for entry of information into electronic data processing system; following up as necessary to complete documents.
  • Drafting and E-filing pleadings, notices, orders, letters and other documents, as instructed.
  • Organizing and scanning requests and responses to discovery as needed/before deadlines.
  • Opening, sorting and scanning mail; mailing letters, subpoenas and other documents.
  • Composing correspondence independently as appropriate and as time allows.
  • Writing business checks for bills/invoices, maintaining the receipt book, making bank deposits.
  • Maintaining Attorney/Client confidentiality.
  • Participating in social media and networking events.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in family law and/or trial experience preferred.
  • Strong character, honesty, and integrity.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service for at least 1 year.
