About the position

A prestigious law firm in Salt Lake City is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in litigation and will be responsible for supporting attorneys throughout all stages of litigation matters. This role requires a self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in the discovery process, which includes the collection, retention, and production of documents, as well as assisting counsel in drafting discovery responses. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with drafting basic legal documents such as settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters. Pre-trial preparation is also a significant aspect of this position, which involves drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits. The successful candidate will need to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner, ensuring that all assignments are handled with precision and care.

Responsibilities

  • Support litigation counsel in all stages of litigation
  • Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents
  • Assist counsel in drafting discovery responses
  • Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters
  • Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits
  • Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years civil litigation experience
  • Experience in organizing large caseloads, discovery, and trial preparation
  • Experience in Personal Injury or Construction Defect litigation is a plus
  • Office management experience
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Great time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to act independently and with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with trial presentation software
