As a Litigation Paralegal at State Farm, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team within the Detroit Claim Litigation office located in Southfield, MI. You will be responsible for supporting 2-3 attorneys with various tasks related to civil litigation and insurance defense. Your work will involve managing discovery tasks, summarizing medical records, preparing case evaluation summaries, writing motions, conducting legal research, and assisting in trial preparation. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Support 2-3 attorneys with discovery related tasks.
  • Summarize medical records and create chronologies.
  • Prepare case evaluation and facilitation summaries.
  • Draft motions and conduct legal research.
  • Assist in trial preparation.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of No Fault and civil litigation experience, preferably in Insurance Defense or Personal Injury.
  • Experience managing a high-volume litigation docket.
  • Proficient in drafting written discovery for 1st and 3rd party litigation.
  • Ability to review medical records and prepare case evaluation summaries.
  • Familiarity with Court Rules and Procedures.
  • Strong software skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience working in an electronic/digital environment.
