About the position

Coombe Curry Rich & Jarvis (CCRJ) is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support civil litigation and construction defect attorneys. The role involves managing legal documents, trial preparation, and collaborating with attorneys and support staff in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of litigation processes in Colorado courts and be proactive in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize software to organize and maintain administrative and client files.
  • File electronic and paper documents promptly and accurately with courts.
  • Anticipate and manage daily workflow to meet project deadlines.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as preparing disclosures and written discovery.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, attorneys, and legal assistants to review docketing reports for accuracy.
  • Create, edit, revise, and proofread documents from various sources.
  • Conduct preliminary conflict checks with Professional Standards.
  • Prepare new client and matter intake forms, as well as engagement letters.
  • Process daily time entries, including proofreading and releasing all time records.
  • Professionally receive, screen, and transmit telephone and conference calls.
  • Maintain an overview of timekeepers' workloads and caseloads.
  • Conduct internet research as directed by timekeepers.
  • Prepare outgoing mail for timely delivery and process incoming communications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Solid understanding of court operations and processes, including rules and procedures for state and federal courts.
  • Proficient in CO Courts E-Filing System, PACER, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe.
  • Familiarity with drafting sworn financial statements and mandatory financial disclosures.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures relevant to the position.
  • Ability to build effective and professional relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in personal injury, premises liability, and construction defect cases.
  • Experience with TABS and Practice Master is a plus.
