About the position

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Personal Injury team. In this role, you will work closely with our talented attorneys, providing essential support before, during, and after trials. Your responsibilities will include preparing a variety of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. You will also be responsible for e-filing all court documents in both state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements. Effective communication is key in this position, as you will be liaising with clients, the court, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties. Conducting legal research and factual investigations will be a significant part of your duties, as will preparing discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses. You will draft and serve summons, coordinate and summarize depositions, and prepare trial binders and exhibits. Additionally, you will be involved in drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, filing them with the court, and performing various administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices, and aiding attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests will also be part of your responsibilities. You will gather relevant information from various sources, prepare witnesses for trial, assist with case settlements, and perform other tasks as requested by the attorney. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda

  • Aid attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
  • Prepare witnesses for trial
  • Assist with case settlements
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the attorney

Requirements

  • Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • 2+ years of litigation experience (required)
  • Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred)
  • Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises Liability, or other injury-related practice areas (preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive computer and database expertise; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing no less than 35 wpm
