About the position

Khavari & Moghadassi, Attorneys at Law is seeking a full-time in-office Paralegal to join our dynamic team of attorneys and legal professionals. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and capable of providing high-level paralegal support to experienced trial attorneys. This position requires a proactive approach to managing various legal tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the quality of work is maintained at the highest standards. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for managing the firm calendar, which includes scheduling hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and other appointments. You will also maintain professional communication with clients, prepare legal documents and correspondence under the supervision of attorneys, and assist clients in complying with discovery requests. Your role will involve drafting discovery requests, coordinating the delivery of legal documents, and e-filing pleadings with court clerks throughout the DFW metroplex. Additionally, you will assist attorneys in preparing for various legal proceedings and help analyze and resolve issues that arise in family law cases. Responsibilities

  • Manage firm calendar for hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, deadlines, meetings, phone conferences, and other appointments
  • Ensure deadlines are not missed
  • Maintain complete and accurate time in firm time-keeping software
  • Maintain professional contact and communication with clients, both verbal and written
  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence under the supervision of a lawyer, including pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
  • Assist clients in complying with discovery requests and compiling requested documents
  • Prepare spreadsheets, inventories and appraisements, financial information sheets, and other documents for review, approval, and use by attorneys, clients, and court
  • Draft discovery requests and prepare correspondence to opposing counsel and/or opposing parties
  • Draft and coordinate delivery of service of citations, notices, and subpoenas
  • Coordinate the exchange of discovery and exhibits
  • Review and organize documents, exhibits, evidence, and case pleadings
  • E-file pleadings and other documents with court clerks throughout the DFW metroplex
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences
  • Bates Label and edit using Adobe Acrobat
  • Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving a variety of problems that arise in family law cases
  • Assist attorneys with a variety of administrative matters such as coordinating and orchestrating firm CLE training and quarterly volunteer events

Requirements

  • Candidate must have some legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Candidates with an ABA-approved paralegal certificate, an associate degree, or a proprietary school program in paralegal studies will receive preference
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Efficient, effective, and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment
