The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex, document-heavy commercial litigation cases, demonstrating both independence and collaboration with attorneys. This role is pivotal in trial preparation and involves handling both electronic and paper discovery, document review, production, and the organization of exhibits. Key responsibilities include collecting and electronically organizing documents, conducting thorough document reviews to extract and summarize key case-related information, and independently reviewing documents for relevance and privilege. The paralegal will also create and maintain production and privilege logs, manage database organization by coding and tagging documents with case-relevant issues, and perform redactions as necessary. Additionally, the paralegal will assist attorneys in preparing for depositions by conducting keyword searches, organizing documents, and maintaining a chronological order of exhibits. They will summarize depositions, key documents, and medical and business records, and prepare for and attend trials by creating trial exhibits, preparing witness binders, and coordinating logistics. The role also involves conducting document searches and factual research, managing internal case databases, and compiling relevant information from various resources such as newspapers and trade associations.
