About the position

The Litigation Paralegal will provide essential support to attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process. This role is ideal for individuals with strong organizational skills and a passion for the legal field, offering an opportunity to work in a prominent law firm in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
• Manage document production, including drafting and editing correspondence and legal documents
• Utilize document management systems to organize and maintain case files
• Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
• Assist in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials
• File documents with the court and serve them on opposing parties
• Perform data entry tasks to update case information in our case management system
• Conduct interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information relevant to the case
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering phone calls with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field
• Previous experience working as a litigation paralegal or in a similar role
• Proficient in legal drafting and knowledgeable about various types of legal documents
• Familiarity with document management systems and electronic filing systems
• Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
