About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Personal Injury Paralegal with over four years of litigation experience to join our dynamic legal team in Washington DC. This role is crucial for assisting attorneys in managing personal injury cases from inception to resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for personal injury law and a proven track record in litigation, ensuring that all necessary documents and information are organized and readily available throughout the case lifecycle. As a Personal Injury Paralegal, you will conduct in-depth research on case laws, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to personal injury cases. You will be responsible for drafting and preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements under the supervision of attorneys. Maintaining regular communication with clients is essential, as you will provide updates on case progress and assist in gathering essential information. Additionally, you will manage the discovery process, which includes document production, interrogatories, and requests for admissions. Preparing for trial will also be a significant part of your responsibilities, which involves organizing exhibits, coordinating with expert witnesses, and managing trial logistics. Supporting attorneys with administrative duties, including calendar management, scheduling, and maintaining case files, will round out your role in our firm.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in managing personal injury cases from start to finish, ensuring all necessary documents and information are organized and readily available.
  • Conduct in-depth research on case laws, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to personal injury cases.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements under attorney supervision.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and assisting in gathering essential information.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury law with a strong focus on litigation.
  • Proficiency in legal research using databases and research tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and pleadings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
