The Litigation Secretary position at a law firm in Los Angeles is designed for an experienced professional with a strong background in litigation support. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative skills and attention to detail, contributing to the efficiency of the legal team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage court filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and appellate court rules.
  • Perform e-filing and maintain accurate calendars for litigation cases.
  • Prepare tables of contents and authorities for legal documents.
  • Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and clarity.
  • Utilize document management systems to organize and manage case files.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of federal, state, and appellate court filing rules and procedures.
  • Strong litigation background with e-filing and calendaring experience.
  • Excellent proofreading and writing skills with great attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative, follow-up, initiative, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient typing, formatting, and computer software skills, specifically in Word 2010 or higher and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of CompuLaw, Best Authority, Kofax, and CCC Macros.
  • Experience with filing documents with the NLRB.
