About the position

The Litigation Services Attorney at Latham & Watkins is a key member of the Litigation Services team, responsible for providing high-level legal analysis on complex procedural and strategic issues in state and federal courts. This role involves reviewing court filings, preparing procedural roadmaps, and advising on court rules and civil procedures while utilizing various legal research platforms. The position is based in New York and may offer a flexible working schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct judicial research to develop profiles and analytics on specific judges, including reviewing transcripts.
• Oversee and perform calendaring functions, maintaining a calendar of litigation deadlines for all contested matters.
• Oversee and perform court services functions, including researching and retrieving court documents and filing client and firm court documents.
• Prepare roadmaps to guide attorneys through procedural and logistical elements of complex court filings, highlighting strategic opportunities and best practices.
• Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Current bar admission in a relevant state.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a practicing litigation attorney or in a Docket/Calendar/Litigation Services environment.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable court rules and procedures across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to articulate complex court rules and calendaring issues clearly and concisely.
• Strong analytical skills to comprehend and convey complex legal principles.
