About the position
The Live-in Caretaker position at Community Horizons LLC involves providing compassionate care and support to individuals in self-directed programs. Caregivers play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for participants by assisting with daily activities and personal care, while also fostering a warm and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals and handle light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, sweeping, and mopping.
- Assist with transfers from wheelchair to bed, bed to toilet, and wheelchair to recliner.
- Provide personal care including sponge baths, grooming, and dressing.
- Perform trach suctioning during the day and operate a ventilator at night, with training provided if needed.
- Offer companionship and assist with electronic devices.
- Expect some personal downtime during shifts.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Prior caregiving or healthcare experience is preferred, but paid training is available.
- Must be dependable and compassionate.
- Must pass a background check.
