About the position
A private family is seeking to hire an experienced Housekeeper to assist with the daily maintenance of a very formal household. The ideal candidate must be loving and enjoy working in a home filled with pets, including both cats and dogs. A willingness to help with pet care is essential. The role requires a hospitality and service mindset, along with a can-do attitude to ensure the household runs smoothly. The Housekeeper will be responsible for all aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning of the residence, including bedrooms and bathrooms. This includes vacuuming, dusting, sanitization, proper garbage disposal, bed making, and organizing of bedrooms. Laundry duties will involve laundering all clothes, ironing, organizing clothes, and placing them in the appropriate closets or storage based on the season. The Housekeeper will also oversee organizing projects within the residence and create smart storage solutions for the family. Additional responsibilities include assisting with travel packing and unpacking, meal service, pet care, cleaning up pet play areas, and grooming pets. The candidate must be extremely hands-on and willing to assist with errands as needed. This position requires working as part of a household team, reporting directly to the House Manager, and collaborating with another full-time housekeeper.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning of residence bedrooms and bathrooms
- Vacuuming, dusting, sanitization, proper garbage disposal, bed making, and organizing of bedrooms
- Laundering all clothes, ironing, and organization of clothes
- Placing clothes in all proper closets or storage based on the season
- Overseeing organizing projects in the residence and creating smart storage solutions for the family
- Assisting with travel packing and unpacking
- Assisting with meal service
- Pet care including cleaning up pet play areas and grooming pets
- Being extremely hands-on
- Assisting with errands as needed
- Working as part of a household team, reporting directly to the House Manager
- Working alongside another full-time housekeeper
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years related private home experience
- Excellent references from both current and previous employers
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong command of the English language
- Prior experience with care for multiple children
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
- Flexibility with hours and scheduling
- Strong swimming skills to occasionally monitor kids in the swimming pool
- Must have United States work authorization
- Valid driver's license (must be a confident driver)
