About the position

The Live Sound Consultant will play a crucial role in the final stages of constructing a new 250-capacity music venue in New York City. This position involves collaborating with contractors and managing sound engineering aspects to ensure a successful launch and operation of the venue. The consultant will also be responsible for developing staging options, managing production inventory, and training a new team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with outside contractors for the installation of sound equipment such as speakers and consoles.
• Develop and produce modular staging options for the venue.
• Arrange production inventory and policies in alignment with management's vision.
• Develop and purchase backline inventory and storage systems.
• Train a new team of engineers as the venue approaches opening.

Requirements

• Experience in opening and operating new small live music venues or similar theatrical productions.
• Extensive knowledge as a sound engineer, both as a local in-house engineer and touring engineer.
• Demonstrated skill in managing in-house engineers.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various departments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with social media management.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro.
