About The Position

The Psychiatric Social Worker is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention, and psycho-education to patients and their families. This role requires familiarity with psychopathology and the ability to recognize and implement appropriate clinical treatment interventions. The position primarily focuses on direct patient care across various age groups, utilizing a range of treatment modalities.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of post-graduate mental health therapy experience within the last five (5) years.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California).
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize current DSM nomenclature.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment intervention of members.
  • Select appropriate treatment modalities based on members' presenting problems.
  • Communicate clinical material effectively to members and clinical staff.
  • Ensure high internal and external customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Document clinical encounters appropriately in members' charts.
  • Conduct initial interviews with members to interpret psychological and social meanings of complaints.
  • Determine the urgency of members' needs and recommend therapeutic actions.
  • Provide treatment to adults, adolescents, and children.
  • Render guidance and therapy for members in crisis or in need of clinical services.
  • Maintain written records of therapy and prepare reports and letters.
  • Provide clinical consultation regarding family interactions and community resources.
  • Conduct telephone assessments, counseling, and referrals.
  • Identify and treat developmental stages across the lifespan.
  • Comply with organizational and regulatory guidelines and participate in quality management activities.
