Leidos is seeking a Load Balance Network Engineer to support a large enterprise IT contract for the Department of Defense (DOD). This role is crucial for the implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies across a global enterprise that spans multiple networks. The responsibilities of this position include updating to new technologies, tuning performance, and implementing critical system patches. The infrastructure managed by this role may include both on-premises and cloud resources, requiring a collaborative approach to ensure that mission needs are met for both internal and external customers. In this position, the Load Balance Network Engineer will ensure that Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) authentication features provided by the F5 appliance are operational at all times. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring that load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are backed up in accordance with customer policies. Additionally, the engineer will alert load balancing and reverse proxy customers prior to PKI certificate expiration and assist with certificate renewals as necessary. The role requires the creation, management, and troubleshooting of load balanced IP address spaces, as well as the development and implementation of technical solutions in collaboration with engineers and architects. The engineer will provide after-hours support to the 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with troubleshooting service outages and will develop and update technical solutions, operating procedures, and other documentation to aid in initial troubleshooting and triage efforts.
