About the position

The Load Testing subject matter expert will be responsible for planning and supporting load testing activities on Special Tooling and Material Handling Equipment across all Missile Systems locations. This role emphasizes a proactive approach to maintenance and load testing, aiming to enhance productivity, minimize unplanned repairs, and improve asset reliability. The position involves providing technical guidance, coordinating load testing requirements, and supervising testing activities to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to Metrology Technicians and Tooling Engineers as necessary.
  • Participate in critical design reviews for below the hook and material handling prior to fabrication.
  • Input and extract data from SAP/PRISM and cPDM/CREO databases.
  • Prepare documents, requests, and certifications related to Load Testing.
  • Coordinate essential lifting equipment, weights, and locations for Load Testing.
  • Supervise or conduct Load Testing with Metrology Technicians.
  • Send Load Test documents to the Tooling/Packaging engineer for entry into cPDM.
  • Track Load Tests performed and update Load Test procedures as needed.
  • Create preventative maintenance plans for Special Tooling.
  • Provide guidance to Tooling/Packaging Engineers on components requiring PM.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Tooling, Mechanism, Machine or Mechanical Automation Systems Design, Troubleshooting and/or Maintenance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and articulate business goals and risks.
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Word, Project).
  • Experience working with leaders, peers, customers, and technicians.
  • Strong engineering aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Experience utilizing maintenance scheduling software.
  • Experience with Tooling Design utilizing cPDM and CREO.
  • SAP/PRISM knowledge and proficiency.
  • Six Sigma training and/or experience.
  • Active DOD Security Clearance.
