The Loader Operator and Customer Service role is essential in ensuring that we meet our customers' needs effectively and efficiently. This position is primarily responsible for engaging with customers both in person and over the phone at our Hardscapes Outlet locations. The successful candidate will be tasked with selling or providing advice on our range of products, as well as managing customer transactions, including weighing and ticketing customers promptly. In addition to customer service responsibilities, this role will also involve operating equipment as needed, making versatility a key component of the position. The Loader Operator will serve as a backup across all operations, ensuring that we maintain high standards of service and safety. This is a seasonal position, allowing for a unique work-life balance where employees can enjoy their winters off for personal pursuits such as travel, hunting, or fishing, all while enjoying year-round benefits. To thrive in this role, candidates should be prepared to work typical hours from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts from 8 AM to noon. We are looking for individuals who are not only hardworking but also committed to delivering high-quality results and maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve the needs of customers through face-to-face interaction and phone calls at Hardscapes Outlet.
  • Sell or offer advice on available products to customers.
  • Ticket and weigh customers in a timely manner.
  • Operate equipment on a time-to-time basis when called upon.
  • Work out of all Hardscapes Outlet locations as a versatile backup to all operations.

Requirements

  • One year of college or technical school coursework in Landscaping program preferred.
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with landscaping products and services.
